Galway with be buzzing with Athletes from all over the country on 29th March as ACT for Meningitis bring the first annual “Remembering Aoibhe Renville Challenge 2015”,to Renville Park, Oranmore. This exciting event , supported by DFS & Co Accountants Galway, is a full day of sporting challenges to suit all fitness levels and ages.
The “Remembering Aoibhe Renville Challenge” is being held in memory of precious Aoibhe Carroll, who sadly lost her life to Meningitis in 2008 at just four years of age, but ACT believe this is also a chance for everyone who has lost a loved one to come out and take on a personal challenge in their memory.
The day kicks off with a 20k TT Cycle, supported by Galway Bay Cycle Club. Sign on will be from 8.30am – 9.15am at the Oranmore Community Centre, Oranmore, Galway, with first rider off at 10am.
The 5k Run/Walk is a fully-time chipped and certified route from Renville Park which is supported by Amphibian King West, will begin at 11am. Online registration for this challenge is just €15 and is highly recommended as its likely to sell-out, limited numbers will be available on race day at registration in the Galway bay Golf Resort from 9am-10.20am. Pre-registered number collection and REGISTRATION is at Amphibian King, Main Street Oranmore, Galway on Friday 27th March 5-7pm & Saturday 28th March 3-5pm. Post-race refreshment will be served at the hotel.

close at 10.20 to allow for set-up, and as parking in the park is very limited we recommend you arrive well before then.
The final challenge of the day is the Duatlon supported by Predator Triathlon Club and Warehouse Gym Galway, a 3k run followed by a 16k cycle and ends with another 3k run! Kicking off at 3pm with pre-registration from 1.00-2.30 at the GalwayBay Golf Resort. This can be entered by individuals (€40) or as a relay team of two (€60). Very limited places are still available for this race.
