BABIES AND TODDLERS

- Pale blotchy skin – which may turn blue
- Lethargic – hard to wake
- High temperature
- Floppy limbs
- Fast shallow breathing
- Irritable – especially when held
- Cold hands and feet
- Refusing feeds
- Skin rash – spots do not fade when a glass tumbler is pressed against it
CHILDREN AND ADULTS
- High temperature
- Cold hands and feet
- Severe stomach cramps with or without vomiting and / or diarrhoea
- Lethargic – hard to wake up
- Delirium – may appear intoxicated – very confused and disorientated
- Skin rash – spots do not fade when a glass tumbler is pressed against it
